Departmental Profile

The Information Technology Department of G.H. Raisoni College of Engineering and Management was started in the year 2007. The goal of the Department is to prepare students for successful careers in software and hardware industry that meets the needs of Indian and multinational companies or to excel in higher studies. The Department has experienced and dedicated faculty members with strong commitment to the engineering education and professional ethics.

Information Technology is the field which deals with analyzing and designing hardware, software, and operating systems for a computer system. Our students are trained in software design and implementation. The Department has well equipped laboratories with a good number of personal computers, servers etc. The Department also has a library.

Various workshops, seminars, guest lectures and training programs based on current technologies are organized under various professional bodies such as IEEE CS, ISTE and CSI for the development of faculty and students. Industrial visits are arranged to expose the students to real world applications. The research work is carried out by the faculty along with students in the areas like Wireless Sensor Network, Image Processing and Data Mining. Students are also encouraged and guided for participating in various technical events organized by industries and reputed institutes.As a result of sincere efforts of faculty & state of art facilities provided by the Department, our students are excelling in IT as well as other related industries.

At the end of the programme students will be able to demonstrate:

  • PSO 1:Graduates will possess an in-depth knowledge of fundamental and application oriented courses in Information Technology such as programming languages, networking, databases, data mining, distributed computing and information security.
  • PSO 2:Graduates will have an ability to plan, deploy and test the accessible research resources for real life applications and to provide solutions with new innovative ideas.
  • PSO 3:• Graduates will demonstrate capability to work in teams and professional work environments along with the ability to use state of the art technologies and tools.

Program Outcomes

  • PO 1: Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization for the solution of complex engineering problems.
  • PO 2: Problem analysis:Identify, formulate, research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.
  • PO 3: Design/development of solutions:Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet t h e specified needs with appropriate consideration for public health and safety, and cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
  • PO 4: Conduct investigations of complex problems:Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
  • PO 5: Modern tool usage:Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools, including prediction and modelling to complex engineering activities, with an understanding of the limitations.
