Departmental Profile

Welcome to the Department of First Year B. Tech. In GHRCEM, quality is the way of life, everybody in the department of First year B.Tech. has deep faith in quality work culture and workplace values - discipline, punctuality and honesty. The First Year B. Tech. Program is the entry point for all budding engineering students. It provides students a firm foundation and the initial understanding of engineering and career options to assist them in identifying whichever is the right fit. Our professional faculties and the student advisors are dedicated to assist the budding engineers with the first-year experience.

Our classes are made interactive with the use of power point presentations, videos and demos, wherever it is possible. The students are encouraged to give seminars on the latest developments on some of the topics being taught. Our department has well designed and fully equipped laboratories for Electronics Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, Electrical Engineering, Physics and Chemistry.

The teaching module comprises lectures, tutorials and practicals. The methodology adopted in the classroom teaching is based on the application of innovative strategies, comprehensive lectures, audio-video lecture capturing facility and regular assignments. To upskill the faculty as well as students’, the department had its own Board of Studies which includes experts from Academic Institutes like IIT, NIT and the industry experts to impart the knowledge. The subject wise focus group works under BSS work together to have interaction between the teachers and the students.
